PRAYER UPDATE  December 2, 2010  Maaleh Adummim  Josh 15:7  Revised Dec 6

Dear prayer partners,

   I have been in Israel since Oct 6 and am very thankful for the marvelous opportunities I have had.  I moved around from Haifa to Jerusalem to Yavneh to Haifa to Jaffa to Jerusalem and finally rented in Maaleh Adummim.  It is about 5 miles east of Jerusalem in the Judean Wilderness.

  I went with an Arab Baptist pastor Abdallah Khoury from Nazareth to the Shefelah.  This is the lowlands in between the Philistine Plan and the Judean Hills.  We saw the Aijalon Valley, Beit Shemesh, the Sorek Valley and Elah Valley.  We  saw Moreshst Gath and Moreshet and Lachish.   We stopped  to get 5 stones in the Elah Valley as David did.  On Saturdays I have been going to church in Maaleh Adummim and Sundays in Jerusalem.  One Sunday I go the First Baptist Bible church an Arab church which Abdallah pastors.  And the other Sunday to the brethren meeting held at Mary Kilbride’s.

  One the 14^th I will head north to Haifa and to Tiberius and hopefully to Carmiel and to near Maalot which is close to the Lebanese border.

  On Dec 2 at 11 AM a fire started on Mt Carmel near Haifa.  It is still burning at 10:30 PM and is out of control.  Dec 6 41 have been found dead.  The chief of police of Haifa Ahuvah Tomer was burned seriously and is in intensive care.  All is so dry as there has been only one rain this season and the winds are strong today.  Israel has asked help from Turkey, Cyprus, Italy and Greece. Israel needs bigger fire fighting planes.  Cyprus sent 1 pane and Greece sent I think 4.  USA sent a giant Jumbo fire fighting plane which finally brought the fire under control.  Israel has been 7 years without a good year of rain.  A good rain like the one Elijah prayed for and got would help.  Where is a believer like Elijah?  1 Kgs 18:42-46  On Dec 5 in the night it rained on Mt Carmel.  It was not a heavy rain though there was a heavy rain in the Ashdod & Ashkelon area on night of Dec 5.  The fire was brought under control on Dec 5.  The rain helped the fire fighters and saved them days of work.

17  Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

18  And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

  I should have the use of a car by Dec 10 until I leave.  I plan to leave Israel Jan 3 and spend 3 nights in Prague, Czech.  I plan to be back in Paris Jan 6.  I then will keep before me my auto biography.
